Ewart Keep is assisting the Welsh Government’s Skills, Higher Education and Lifelong Learning (SHELL) Group with the assessment of the first ever batch of regional skills plans for Wales. These plans will form the basis for a new regionalised system of planning and funding decision-making for education, skills and training investment.

On 22 May Ewart Keep will be speaking at a Society for Research into Higher Education (SRHE) seminar in London on Knowledge exchange and innovation. Keep will be addressing the issue of whether UK-wide innovation policy can move beyond a rather old-fashioned science-based, science-only model of innovation, and embrace wider notions of employee-driven and bottom-up innovation that are common in many other EU countries, and which are being advocated by organisations such as the European Commission and the OECD. The other speaker at the event will be Dr Alice Frost, Head of Knowledge Exchange and Skills at HEFCE.
