WORK ON SKILLS UTILISATION

Ewart Keep has been working with the Welsh Government and with Skills Development Scotland (SDS) to explore how best to take forward policy developments on improving skills utilisation in the economy and the workplace.  The Welsh Government is testing out new approaches via two sectoral pilot projects (in Construction and the Creative industries).  In Scotland, now that the referendum on independence is resolved, policy makers are now thinking about how to take forward and broaden the scope of the pilot work undertaken by the Scottish Funding Council’s skills utilisation projects (which SKOPE helped evaluate).  A SKOPE Research Paper offering an overview of extant research on skills utilisation is in preparation.
