Gary recently joined the Education School at Southampton University, as Director of Enterprise. Gary is an accomplished senior people professional with expertise in education, learning and development, and extensive experience of leading and managing these areas and of partnership working in a diverse range of challenging roles up to Director level in a very large organisation, for which he was awarded a CBE.
He has a keen interest in developing effective relationships between education and business and, through this, helping others to succeed – especially those that most need a hand to overcome challenges.
In 2020 he gained a doctorate (DPhil) from the University of Oxford that focused on how university academics best form effective collaborative learning relationships with business. Now combining these findings with extensive practical experience in his new role as Director of Enterprise at Southampton Education School, University of Southampton.
